Business Operations are all over the place now.

As we are approaching September 2022, these are certainly some interesting times in relation to business operations.

If we take a quick glance at any business journal and/or general news report, we are seeing a frenzy of varying approaches companies are taking in relation to their operations. We see everything from layoffs, increased hiring, mandates for return to office, going 100% remote and virtual, increasing physical office space, decreasing office space, and on and on and on. Literally, all of our heads would have to be on a swivel to keep up with all of this right?! It is truly dizzying for those of us who are trying to keep up. What are these times telling us with all of this variation and uncertainty?!

That is just it, it is apparent to me that these times are telling us that we are truly in a phase of figuring it out as it relates to business operations. As we reflect on the list, I started above which is just that a start; many of these things appear contradictory. Are there some trends and themes we are able to extrapolate?! (Perhaps) The true outcome that I am seeing from my Consultancy work is that strategy is key right now. With the varying decisions that businesses are making about their operations, someone has to be thinking:

“Now based upon this decision, what next?

What are the implications of this decision?

What communication must occur?

How do we keep the lights on, while still yet focusing on our core business model?

What were we truly created and designed to be and do as a business?”

This is an exact and specific scenario of where I come in. As your Consultant I work with you to strategize and devise a plan to support whatever the operational decision is that you have made or plan to make.
